So much have been said about this one of China's autonomous regions, Hong Kong. When one visits this city, they may talk about leisure parks like Disneyland, the Victoria Peak, and other famous tourist spots. But aren't that too, yeah, touristy? I have read somewhere that one of the ways to learn about the people's history and culture of the place you visit is by their food. Yes, foooood! I mean, have you thought about it? Well, I, as a certified foodie certainly do think about it. That's why when I first visited Hong Kong last December 2017, one of my missions was to go food hunting and tasting authentic Hongkongese cuisine!
The photos I will be sharing were some of the food that I really liked during my first visit. After a long stroll around the city, we found a hidden restaurant along Nathan Road. They serve hotpots for HK$138 each. It's already a set menu plus unlimited drinks.

The photo above is the set menu I'm talking about and some side dishes that go with. This is for the hotpot, where a huge wok is heated in
front of you in your table. Then, they have this flavorful soup stock which they put in the wok, and all of those stuff go into the wok.

That is stir-fried chicken. The way it is cooked seems too simple, however, it is so flavorful that you can taste curry in it. Actually, it's a mix of flavors that suit anyone's taste buds.

Obviously, these are vegetables included in the hotpot. There's spinach, cabbages, that matchstick-like and button mushrooms, sweet (it's really sweet) corn.

And look at these authentic dimsum treats. This is also part of the set. But you can only have these for two servings. Honestly, I am not a dimsum fan because I don't think it's delish. But no, when I tasted it for the first time, my views and my taste change! These ones are so soft, and tender, and there's one that has a little soup inside! Just so yummy!

Finally, this is our hotpot. With everything in it. This one goes best with Schweppes cream soda. Oh, I just can't forget that cream soda. It's just sooo good I never can get enough of it. I had indeed a sumptuous gastronomic treat!
Wanna try this too? Go for it. You too would enjoy this for sure!
